What is a Worker Number?
The Worker Number is an identifier associated with a specific work relationship and legal employer. Worker numbers can either be assigned automatically or manually. The number sequence for automatic allocation can be global or specific to each legal employer.

- When using a global sequence, the worker number remains consistent even if an employee is rehired or transferred to a different legal employer.
- When using a legal-employer-specific sequence, the worker number may not be unique across the enterprise. It remains the same if the worker is rehired within the same legal employer but changes if they are rehired in a different legal employer or transferred globally to a different one.
