Enabling Sandbox for Customization in Oracle HCM

Oracle HCM provides a Sandbox environment that allows users to make customizations without affecting the live production system. This feature enables administrators to test changes, develop configurations, and validate modifications before deploying them to the main environment.

Steps to Enable Sandbox for Customization:

  1. Navigate to the Sandbox Management Page:

    • Sign in to Oracle HCM Cloud.
    • Go to Configuration > Sandboxes.
  2. Create a New Sandbox:

    • Click on Create Sandbox.
    • Enter a name and a description for the sandbox.
    • Select the tools required for customization (e.g., Page Composer, Application Composer, User Interface Text).
  3. Activate the Sandbox:

    • Once created, activate the sandbox for testing.
    • Perform the required customizations (e.g., UI changes, field modifications, workflow adjustments).
  4. Test and Validate Changes:

    • Test the changes to ensure they function as expected.
    • Validate that the modifications do not impact system performance or usability.
  5. Publish or Discard the Sandbox:

    • If the changes are successful, publish the sandbox to apply them to the production system.
    • If not, discard the sandbox to revert to the original setup.

Key Benefits of Using a Sandbox:

✔️ Safe testing environment without affecting live data.
✔️ UI and process customizations before deployment.
✔️ Controlled implementation of new features.
✔️ Enhanced user experience with minimal risk.
