How to Enable Global Search

STEPS TO ENABLE
  • Enable the profile option FUSION_APPS_SEARCH_ENABLED using the below steps:
  • Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
  • Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  • Search for the FUSION_APPS_SEARCH_ENABLED profile option code and select the profile option in the search results.
  • In the Profile Values area, enter Yes in the Profile Value field.
  • Click Save and Close.
  • Sign out and sign in to the application for the changes to take effect

You can change the search logic to only return values that start with entered characters. This may improve performance. To enable the starts with logic: Optionally, search for the Profile Option PER_GLOBAL_SEARCH_PERSONS_STARTSWITH. 
Set the Site level value to Y.

 

To create your own version of the HCM global search configuration:

  1. In Functional Setup Manager, search for the Manage Global Search Configurations task.
  2. Select Oracle HCM Cloud Global Search Configuration and duplicate it.
  3. Select the Default, Enabled, and Use only Suggestions for Search check boxes.
  4. Enabled is an on/off switch for each configuration. If it is not enabled, the configuration won't be used.
  5. Default identifies the configuration will be used. For HCM (where the URL includes hcmUI), the HCM configuration will always be the default.
